Thanksgiving

Had intended to post this yesterday but things got a little busy (imagine that).

This was our first Thanksgiving as a family of four. It was one of the best on record. My wife is healthy, the oldest daughter was helpful and excited about having her new little, little, little sister at home and sharing in the family bliss. But the best part, the very best part? No one could come over and we couldn't go anywhere! The littlest daughter can't really be among the sneezing, sniffling, coughing masses for several months! Our Thanksgiving was just us, no pressure, no pretending, no forced conversation with people we have nothing in common with, no holding back in political or religious discussions with the right-wingnuts that populate my non blood relatives! We said and felt our thanks for what we have and who we are without the need to have a mini church service before or after the meal, for me it was perfect! We are together, youngest is here and healthy and we are happy, simple. And we'll be in turkey and fixins for a long, long, while.
