It would be nice if the technology that I am suppose to be using to "enhance my instruction" worked! The school server, or something, has been down intermittently over the last few days. Naturally we only have problems on the nights that I have either told students that I will be online using a cool new web site to answer questions or when they are to turn in an assignment via e-mail. They are beginning to loose faith in the system and exploit its weaknesses to their advantage. "The server must have been down, I couldn't get in when you said we could" or "I tried to e-mail you my paper but the school computers were broke [yes, I meant to type broke]" have already been whined in my ear and I've only been using the damn site for a few days! The problem is I have no real way of knowing if they are lying because I have had "unreliable" access too, so who the fuck knows!
If we are mandated to use tech, shit should work! AARGGH!

Do you by any chance work in Dallas? Because brother, I feel your pain.
We were categorically denied being able to order a certain workbook for each of our third-graders. A very helpful academic workbook, mind you. The reason? The district bought an online license so that we would have access to any page that we wanted. They even bought us these incredibly expensive ceiling mounted projectors to put certain web pages up on the big screen in our classrooms.
Kind of a waste of money when the Internet connection is down six days out of the week.
Education logic at work...Here is something you MUST do and here is the empty resource tool box to use to get it done. And don't ask for tools or you might lose your job.
