For those who have never visited a western mountain college town I give you Flagstaff Arizona. I graduated from Northern Arizona University located in “Flag” (as those in the know call it) and I did learn a few things despite being fettered by “academic cocksuckary” (TM. JLR) while I was there. One of these little tidbits was, DON’T MESS WITH MOUNTAIN HIPPIES! If Wal-Mart's PR execs would have known this before using imagery of Nazi book burnings in their anti-government propaganda they may have avoided an embarasing appology. Wait...no they would have had to apologize mountain hippies or no mountain hippies. I just wanted to write mountain hippies because it tickled me a bit.
I love it when large box store empires bite themselves in the ass hard enough that we catch a glimpse of who they really are! Here is some of the reaction in Flag to the appology in Wal-Mart Watch.
